Fans of the Pokémon series are excited about the new Mega Lucario Z featured in Legends Z-A, and many have pointed out its striking similarity to the virtual singer Hatsune Miku.
A new trailer released on December 2nd revealed Mega Lucario Z, showcasing it in battle against both Mega Lucario and Mega Raichu X. While details about its moves are still scarce, fans of Legends Z-A immediately recognized the character’s resemblance to the virtual singer Miku.
Ever since its debut, players online have noticed a strong resemblance between the new form and the popular Vocaloid character, Miku. Many have commented on the similarities, including the turquoise twin tails, streamlined shape, and overall blue color scheme, all of which evoke the iconic design of Miku.
Mega Lucario Z design is Miku in disguise
I actually prefer this version to the standard Mega Lucario. Plus, it has a Hatsune Miku vibe, which instantly makes it amazing. Someone else commented that they also appreciate the Anubis influence, even though it brings Hatsune Miku to mind.
Some fans went as far as to suggest naming a special attack for Lucario after Miku, the popular virtual singer, hoping to include her as a recognizable character within the Pokémon games.

Fans were excited to see Mega Lucario Z redesigned with elements of Hatsune Miku, but this isn’t the first time the Pokémon series has crossed over with the popular Vocaloid character.
In September 2023, Pokémon and Hatsune Miku collaborated on a special project called Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE. The project featured daily artwork and music videos imagining Hatsune Miku as a Pokémon Trainer specializing in each of the 18 different Pokémon types.
So, I just found out Pokemon is doing another live show, Pokemon feat. Hatsune Miku VOLTAGE Live!, at the LaLa arena Tokyo Bay in Chiba, Japan, from March 20th to 22nd, 2026. It’s awesome, but everyone’s wondering if Mega Lucario Z will actually be there – we’re all hoping it will, but it’s still a mystery!
