Less than three weeks to go until the Nintendo Direct, where we’ll finally get the Switch 2 price and launch date, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. In the meantime, we’re still busy trading cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket, but the hype for the new game is real – especially with some interesting rumor making the rounds online.
Who else is getting Mega Evolution?
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the gameplay dynamics are being revitalized by transitioning from traditional turn-based combat to real-time battles, allowing both Trainers and their Pokémon greater mobility during conflicts. A notable aspect that has been reintroduced after a long hiatus is Mega Evolution, which is making a much anticipated comeback in the main series following almost a decade’s absence.
It’s not the case that every Pokémon experiences Mega Evolution, but some have already been shown in the trailer, including Charizard, Kangaskhan, Ampharos, and Absol. Consequently, fans are eagerly wondering which other Pokémons will be included.
Centro Leaks posted on X that Victreebel is likely getting a Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. According to him, insider Riddler Khu reportedly teased this last year. Some fans are hesitant to believe it since he’s been wrong about certain rumors before, but there’s supposedly another source backing it up.
In the trailer, we can see Victreebel as the next Pokémon in the user’s party, which could be a little hint, but there’s no official confirmation yet. As always, we’ll just have to wait and see. Personally, I’m more curious if the game will actually look better on the Switch 2.
