The Pokemon Company announced that players in Pokemon Legends: Z-A will soon be able to earn Mega Stones for the Hoenn region starter Pokemon – Sceptile, Swampert, and Blaziken – by participating in Ranked Battles over the next few seasons.
These special Mega Stones aren’t found anywhere else in the game, so you’ll need to compete in Ranked Battles to get them. Sceptilite will be available in Season 5, Swampertite in Season 6, and Blazikenite in Season 7.
Just like last time, you’ll need to achieve a specific rank by the end of the season to get the Mega Stones. Previously, reaching S rank was enough to earn Mega Stones for Pokémon like Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja.
Season 3 is happening now and will run until December 17th. It features the Chesnaughtite stone, and also gives players a second chance to get the Delphoxite and Greninjite if they didn’t earn them before. Season 4 will introduce a Mega Stone for Baxcalibur, a Pokémon that will receive a new Mega Evolution in the Mega Dimension DLC.
On December 10th, a new expansion will be released, adding a story focused on the legendary Pokémon Hoopa. Hoopa has the power to open portals to Hyperspace Lumiose, a different dimension where you’ll find Pokémon not available in the original game—many of these are very powerful, with levels over 100.
To celebrate the upcoming release of Mega Dimension, The Pokémon Company is offering a free Alpha Charizard as a Mystery Gift for a limited time. Players can also get free Mega Stones for Diancie and Mewtwo, which will then unlock special quests to catch these rare Pokémon.
