Pokemon Legends Z-A giveaway offers exclusive Slowpoke for fans who act like one

Fans of Pokemon Legends Z-A are being asked to embrace patience – and a bit of silliness – for a unique contest.

To celebrate the opening of the new Pokémon Center Kagawa, special Slowpoke in Cherish Balls are being given away at Pokémon Centers throughout Japan – and fittingly, the distribution is happening at a very slow pace!

Between October 24th and November 30th, if you visit a Pokemon Center and say Slowpoke’s sleepy sound to a staff member, you’ll get a code to unlock Slowpoke in Pokemon Legends Z-A.

Pokemon Legends Z-A special Slowpoke giveaway

This promotion is only available at Pokemon Centers in Japan, and each person can get one code. The codes are available while supplies last and will expire on January 31, 2026.

From now until November 10th, Pokémon HOME users can earn a special medal celebrating the opening of Pokémon Center Kagawa. The medal features Slowpoke relaxing in the sun, a nod to the Pokémon’s popularity in Kagawa prefecture.

The Pokémon Slowpoke is called Yadon in Japanese, a name that sounds like “udon,” the thick noodles Kagawa prefecture is known for. This playful connection led to an official partnership in 2018, making Slowpoke Kagawa’s tourism ambassador and a local mascot.

This new promotion is just the latest example of the Pokemon brand’s playful marketing. It follows their popular Sudowoodo Christmas jumper – a hilariously chaotic sweater that turned the Grass-type Pokemon into a funny holiday character. Along with this Slowpoke campaign, Pokemon fans have been enjoying some wonderfully strange and creative ways to express their fandom.
