As a lifelong gamer and follower of the Pokemon Go community, I was initially thrilled to discover Lmorgz7_, a charismatic and engaging streamer with a knack for finding rare Pokémon. However, the recent revelation that he has been accused of stealing from a tragic GoFundMe campaign has left me utterly disillusioned.
Lachlan Morganti, a 22-year-old man from Australia, admitted to taking $65,000 from a donation campaign on GoFundMe.
In April 2024, Lachlan Morganti established a GoFundMe campaign to aid the McGuire family, who tragically lost their daughter, Hannah McGuire, when her car was wrecked in Ballarat and she was discovered deceased within it.
Morganti established a GoFundMe campaign that garnered $65,000 since he was acquainted with the McGuire family through their shared connections at the Clunes Cricket Club and the Clunes National Hotel.
As a devoted supporter, I want to share that it was disclosed in court that funds collected through the GoFundMe campaign were directly deposited into Morganti’s personal bank account and subsequently forwarded to Debbie McGuire, Hannah’s mom.
Indeed, Morganti admitted to misappropriating every penny collected through the fundraising campaign. The authorities informed the Ballarat Magistrates Court that the McGuire family has yet to receive a single cent from the funds raised.
As a passionate follower, I learned that Morganti’s battle with a compulsive gambling problem came to light in court proceedings. It was later claimed that, at just 22 years old, Morganti wagered the entire sum raised through the fundraiser over a span of five days, hoping to regain losses from his mounting gambling debts.
As per the ABC’s report, it is alleged that Mr. Morganti took $64,541.75 from an online fundraiser, during the period from April 25 to April 30, 2024.
In the world of TikTok, Morganti goes by the handle Lmorgn7_ for the Pokemon Go enthusiasts. With more than 11,000 followers, he’s a popular figure, frequently broadcasting live daily to share his discoveries in the Pokemon Go game.
Additionally, Morganti has shared numerous video snippets of the game on this platform, several of which have garnered over 10,000 views each.

People who tuned into Morganti’s Pokemon Go live streams swiftly turned to the web to “spread the word” and discourage his audience from sending funds to the streamer.
A Redditor disclosed, “I hail from the same town as [Morganti], hence I’m familiar with him being a streamer.” They further noted that they frequently observed him strolling around the lake, encouraging people to subscribe (donate) so they could join the raids there.
Another added, “Omfg, I literally just came across this guy on TikTok (and followed him) a few days ago! Time to go remove him.”
