As a seasoned Pokémon Go player with years of catching ’em all under my belt, let me tell you that October is shaping up to be quite the month for our beloved game! First off, we’ve got the Galarian Expedition event from October 4-11, where I’ll finally get my shot at a shiny Zamazenta. And if that isn’t enough, there’s a chance of encountering shiny versions of Galarian Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres during this time!
As a passionate fan, I can’t help but get excited as Pokemon Go’s Max Out season continues into October, brimming with fresh events and the introduction of new Pokemon! Over the coming weeks, we can expect an array of exciting raid bosses and, this month alone, more Pokemon from the Galar region are scheduled to join the game. Among these, the Dynamax forms of Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble will make their debut. I can hardly wait!
That’s not all that’s happening in October, however. Pokemon Go is also celebrating Halloween with some spooky Spotlight Hours and its annual Halloween event, which will take place over two weeks this year. Read on for a full look at all the biggest events happening in Pokemon Go this month.

October Raid Schedule
As a gamer, I’m super excited to share that throughout October, there are going to be some fresh Pokémon popping up during raids! All month long, you’ll get the opportunity to come across Dynamax versions of Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Falinks in Max Battles. On top of that, Zamazenta, Origin Forme Giratina, and Darkrai are making a comeback in five-star raids! So, get ready to catch ’em all!
During the festive season, Mega Raid battles will embrace the Halloween mood by reintroducing Mega Blaziken, Mega Sableye, and Mega Banette. Additionally, Shadow Entei will make a special appearance in Shadow Raids each weekend throughout this month.

October Spotlight Hours
During the month of October, the Spotlight Hour events for Pokemon Go persist, offering players new Pokemon to capture and rewards to accumulate!
Each Tuesday night this month, between 6 PM and 7 PM (local time), a specific type of Pokémon will be popping up in the wild more often than normal! Plus, taking part in this special event will earn you extra rewards like double Candy or XP for catching ’em all. I can’t wait to join the fun!

Galarian Expedition
Pokemon Go is starting off October with a Galarian Expedition event running from October 4th through the 11th. During this event, the legendary Pokemon Zamazenta will be back in five-star raids, and for the first time, you’ll have a chance to capture a shimmering shiny version of it.
Additionally, you might come across sparkling variants of Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres when you activate your Daily Adventure Incense. You’ll also find Field Research tasks and Collection Challenges themed around events, plus a paid Masterwork Research quest to obtain a Master Ball.
Team Go Rocket, the mischievous group, is set to resurface during the event midway through, starting from October 8-11. You’ll notice more frequent appearances of their grunts at PokeStops and balloons floating across the map. They’ve acquired a fresh group of Shadow Pokemon which they’ll be showing off. Additionally, the game will introduce a new Special Research storyline that culminates in a showdown with Giovanni, offering an opportunity to free Shadow Heatran.
Sewaddle Community Day
This upcoming Community Day falls on Saturday, October 5th, featuring the bug/grass Pokemon, Sewaddle. Between 2 and 5 PM local time, there will be a higher frequency of Sewaddle appearances in the wild, and you’ll have an enhanced probability of stumbling upon its shiny variant.
Following the completion of the event, Swadloon, Sewaddle’s evolved form, will appear in bonus four-star raids between 5-10 PM local time. If you manage to evolve any Swadloon into Leavanny on the day of the event, it will learn a unique move as it transforms – a ghost-type Fast Attack named Shadow Claw.
In October’s Community Day, some extra perks are in store! Much like before, any Incense or Lure Modules you activate will last an extended three hours instead of their regular timeframes. To sweeten the deal even further, catching Pokémon will earn you twice as much candy, and eggs will hatch at only a quarter of the usual distance needed. Enjoy these special bonuses!
Mega Raid Day
On October 12th, Pokemon Go has scheduled a unique Mega Raid Event. Further information about this occasion will be shared as we approach the date.
Magnetic Study
As a dedicated Pokémon Go enthusiast, I can’t help but share some exciting news! The Max Out season is still going strong, and starting from October 15th through the 17th, we’ve got a Magnetic Study event lined up for us. Stay tuned for more information on this electrifying adventure!

Pokemon Go is holding another Research Day event on October 19.
