Pokemon fan breaks absurd world record after spending $88K on a Charizard-shaped Cheeto

A Pokémon enthusiast has earned a Guinness World Record after purchasing a Cheeto puff that remarkably resembled the Pokémon Charizard for $87,840.

The story of the ‘Cheetozard’ – a uniquely shaped Cheeto – began years ago. In 2024, a collectibles shop in Georgia called 1st and Goal discovered the now-famous snack while tidying up.

The “Cheetozard” is a Cheeto puff that naturally looks like the Pokémon, Charizard. When a shop first found this remarkably shaped snack sometime between 2018 and 2022, they thought it looked so much like Charizard that they put it in a special frame, similar to a Pokémon card holder, to preserve it.

This unusual collectible resurfaced in February 2025 when it was offered for sale at a Goldin auction. Fans quickly started making high bids for the unofficial Pokémon item.

The final price of the winning bid was $87,840, including a 22% fee, which was high enough to qualify for a Guinness World Record.

Pokemon collector sets world record with $88,000 ‘Cheetozard’ purchase

Guinness World Records announced on March 16th that a Cheetozard—a Cheeto that resembles a wizard—sold for the highest price ever paid for a corn snack shaped like a video game character.

Guinness World Records reports that the Cheeto, originally found on eBay by Paul Bartlett of 1st and Goal Collectibles, cost him $350. Its recent auction sale earned a significant profit.

Since the card recently sold for almost $88,000, its value has increased by nearly 25,000%. Because of this significant rise in value, it will be included in the 2026 edition of the book dedicated to gamers.

A dedicated Pokémon fan recently achieved a unique record by purchasing a Cheeto shaped like a Pokémon for an incredible $87,840! The 3-inch chip remarkably resembled the fiery dragon’s wings and tail, and the fan had it specially displayed on a custom Pokémon mount.

This year, Goldin Auctions, the same auction house that sold the Cheetozard, also achieved a record sale: Logan Paul’s perfectly graded Pikachu Illustrator card sold for over $16 million – making it the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold at auction.

Surprisingly, this isn’t the most expensive Cheeto ever sold. A Cheeto shaped like Harambe became famous in 2017 and sold for $100,000 on eBay.
