Game Freak, the well-known Japanese game developer responsible for numerous popular Pokémon video games, has recently unveiled a new game title separate from the Pokémon series in a low-key manner.
Despite some rocky releases recently, like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it’s undeniable that Game Freak has a rich and legendary past.
From the original Pokémon games like Red, Blue, and Yellow in the 90s to the blockbuster hits such as Black and White, Ruby and Sapphire, and most recently Scarlet and Violet, they’ve consistently been at the forefront. They’re also diligently working on the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
It’s worth noting that although The Pokémon Company is associated with the company producing these games, it doesn’t completely own it. Consequently, they sometimes introduce titles beyond the usual Pokémon fan base. Recently, a new game has hit the market, but there’s been minimal buzz or promotion around it.
Pokémon devs quietly release new mobile game
Initially launched in Japan back in 2024, the new Game Freak title is now available worldwide, marking a significant expansion from its initial release one year ago.
In the realm of digital gaming, I’ve found myself captivated by this unique world called Pandoland. It’s an exclusive mobile RPG experience, often categorized as a “casual adventure.” Similarities with Pokémon are evident, as we traverse various distinct regions, forge friendships with one-of-a-kind characters, and uncover powerful enhancements to ease combat encounters.
As an enthusiast, I can tell you that the game offers a unique blend of cooperative multiplayer and classic PvP action. Right now, it’s only available on Android and iOS platforms, with no news yet about a PC or console launch.
Despite the reputation of its creators, Pandoland seems to be receiving a rather subdued welcome thus far. As I write this, the English trailer on YouTube has garnered only about 2,700 views, and initial reviews don’t appear to be overwhelmingly positive.
The game is initially free but heavily relies on in-app purchases. Players can opt for premium packages to bypass in-game ads. A user on Reddit mentioned that an item offered in the shop costs approximately 99 US dollars.

Let’s observe whether the game gains any traction, or it becomes just a minor note in the history of the Pokémon creators.
