A fanatic of Pokémon cards attributes the Incineroar-themed deck as the hero in a lifesaving incident, as the cards effectively halted a wandering 9mm bullet.
Through the years, there have been countless tales about stolen Pokemon cards, involving robberies, high-speed pursuits by law enforcement, and even grand thefts worth half a million dollars. However, in this unique instance, it’s the cards themselves that emerge as the unsung heroes of the narrative.
On social media, a supporter posted images of their card collection that had been damaged, claiming a bullet was fired into their room but luckily hit the cards instead, thereby avoiding injury.
As reported by the collector, they reside in a rural area and were awakened prematurely by a sudden blast they heard in the early hours of the day.
The user explained that it’s typically due to their neighbor firing a gun without a protective barrier or backdrop. However, when they went outside to check things out, they were puzzled by what they discovered instead.
Fan reveals how Pokemon cards literally took a bullet for them
LolaInSlacks88, who is a collector of Pokemon cards, shared that they had a curious incident: a noise from their wardrobe made them suspect something was amiss. Upon investigation, they discovered a gaping hole in the wall, which led straight to their Tupperware containers brimming with Pokemon items.

It turns out that a stray bullet, fired by my thoughtless neighbors, accidentally hit my house. Remarkably, an Incineroar-themed Pokémon card deck was in the way, and it stopped the bullet from causing any harm. The bullet had lodged itself inside the box, which probably saved me from being injured as I slept, since the bullet’s trajectory matched the level of my bed.
In photos, the fan showed off the damage the stray bullet had caused, including piercing the cards.
While there were doubters in the comments, Lola uploaded a report from the County Sheriff’s office.
As stated by Lola, the neighbor has ceased utilizing their property as a makeshift firing range, however, the experience was so terrifying that it left them sleepless in their bedroom for several nights.
When asked about which cards gave the “greatest sacrifice,” Lola answered: “In essence, almost every card in the deck. It moved backwards and eventually came to a halt at the front, where Incineroar was stationed.
Now, I consider Incineroar my protective Pokémon, and I’ve never felt more content with stacks of cardboard in my possession. Who knows? They could potentially shield me from harm!
It’s not unheard of for gaming equipment to play a role in saving lives, as was the case with a Redditor who shared in 2022 that his Razer headset shielded him from a bullet that came through his window.
In the same year, a player of Apex Legends came incredibly close to losing their life as a bullet, intended for them, miraculously struck their computer screen rather than their head.
