Pokemon Cards Return to McDonald’s, But There’s a Catch!

Starting from early 2025, Pokemon cards will once again be included in McDonald’s Happy Meals. However, for those eager to collect them all, there’s a twist in the tale.

In January 2025, McDonald’s revived its popular partnership with Pokemon. This time, customers in the United States could find 15 unique trading cards from the Pokemon Trading Card Game hidden within Happy Meals during the month of February.

For the past two months, there haven’t been any cards included with Happy Meals. However, it seems that customers are returning to these meals, although only in specific areas.

In an exciting announcement made through a lively promotional video on May 14th, it’s been revealed that residents in the United Kingdom will have the opportunity to acquire unique Dragon-Type cards as part of a collaborative event taking place across the ocean. This special offer is available until July 17th.

The collection includes Dragon-Type Pokemon such as Charizard, Dragapult, Dragonite, and Rayquaza, but there are also other creatures like Eevee, Pikachu, among others, in the assortment too.

In light of past experiences, trainers should respond promptly – incidents of disarray have previously occurred with McDonald’s collaborations, as eagle-eyed fans discovered scalpers marketing the Happy Meal card packs on the internet at exorbitant prices just a few days following their release in January 2025.

Indeed, it was surprising to find that certain items were priced as high as $799, leaving trainers astonished. Fortunately, The Pokemon Company took action and revised their system to prevent scalpers from exploiting it. Now, the plastic wrapping on card packs is removed at the point of purchase, making it harder for scalpers to manipulate the market.

It’s wise to examine your Happy Meal for cards prior to leaving the store; some patrons have alerted the public about not receiving any cards in their meal or, in some cases, getting the incorrect toy unintentionally.

McDonald’s has teamed up with Squishmallows once more, making it their most recent major collaboration since they renewed their partnership. In the United States, 12 adorable and vibrant Squishmallow plushies will be included in Happy Meals for a brief period.
