PlayStation Event Coming For June, Could Be A State Of Play – Report

Even though E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) seems to have come to an end, the summer season continues to be brimming with gaming events, and it looks like Sony could potentially host one in June. According to Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb, there are rumors about a possible “PlayStation event” happening this month.

Grubb stated that his statement is based on an educated assumption, and he hasn’t received any definite dates or particulars as yet. He mentioned, “I’m not certain if it’s a State of Play or a major presentation like the PlayStation Showcase,” referring to Sony’s two primary types of PlayStation broadcasts.

In April, the most recent State of Play was held, primarily centered around Borderlands 4. Prior to this, there was a 45-minute State of Play event in February that introduced Ghost of Yotei. Unlike June 2024, no State of Play or Showcase event took place. However, Sony did host a State of Play in May 2024, showcasing the troubled live-service game Concord and God of War Ragnarok for PC.

Despite Sony not revealing their plans for a summer event yet, it’s clear that there are over a dozen gaming events scheduled for the summer season.
