
So, PlayStation Australia just celebrated their 30th anniversary, and they went all out! They actually built a giant memory card – seriously, they’re saying it’s the biggest one ever made in Australia. It’s pretty wild!
Australia’s PlayStation team built a giant, six-meter (20-foot) tall replica of a PS One memory card. It’s not a functioning memory card with storage space, but a massive, 100-times-larger-than-life recreation of the classic accessory.

I just saw this incredible sand sculpture being built right at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal in The Rocks! It was amazing – especially with the Sydney Opera House right behind it. Seriously, a beautiful view!
PlayStation Australia hosted a free event last Saturday, November 15th, featuring an Astro Bot speedrunning competition and commemorative giveaways celebrating their 30th anniversary.
The first PlayStation came out in Japan in 1994, but it wasn’t available in places like Australia, the United States, and Europe until 1995.
Sony’s PlayStation 5 has sold over 84 million units, performing about as well as the PlayStation 4 did in its first few years.
