It appears Sony has finally recognized the inconvenience of connecting the DualSense controller to anything other than PlayStation 5. While it might seem peculiar, many users have been employing the PS5 controller on PC for some time now. After a span of five years, they’re introducing an update that addresses one of the most demanded features.
DualSense to support multiple devices in late 2025 update
Each time you transition between various devices – be it your PS5, PC, mobile, or more – the DualSense controller is compatible. However, there’s a slight inconvenience: you must reconnect the controller every time you swap devices. It isn’t particularly difficult, but the repetition can become bothersome, especially if you frequently switch between them.
It’s great news that Sony has announced via their PlayStation account on X that they’re developing an update to solve this particular issue. This new update will enable the DualSense controller to connect simultaneously with multiple devices, eliminating the need for re-pairing each time you switch. They’re targeting a release in late 2025, so while it’s not immediately forthcoming, it’s definitely something exciting to anticipate.
Currently, Sony has not disclosed much detail regarding this aspect. It remains unclear how many devices can be connected simultaneously. However, they have promised to reveal more information about the functionality closer to the product’s launch.
Though this may seem like a minor adjustment, it’s actually quite useful. It will significantly simplify life for those frequently switching between console, PC, and mobile gaming, as they won’t have to keep re-pairing their controller every time. This is definitely an improvement worth welcoming.
