PlayStation 5 Pro Name Seemingly Confirmed In Unlisted Video

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say the latest news about the potential PS5 Pro has me both excited and cautiously optimistic. I remember the thrill of upgrading from the original PlayStation to the PS2, and then again from the PS3 to the PS4 Pro. The anticipation for a new console is always palpable, and this time around is no exception.

It appears that Sony may have inadvertently disclosed the name of its upcoming PlayStation 5 upgrade, tentatively known as the PS5 Pro, before its formal announcement. A video on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, initially titled “PS5 Pro,” was found. Later, the video was renamed to “PlayStation 5 Technical Presentation – September 10.

Earlier today, it was announced that a technical presentation for the PlayStation 5 Pro is scheduled to air on YouTube at 8 AM Pacific Time / 11 AM Eastern Time. The unlisted video serves as a sneak peek, showcasing the PS5 logo, the phrase “the journey continues,” along with dates and times. While Sony hasn’t confirmed the topic of the presentation, the title suggests that it will focus on the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Over the last few weeks, there has been growing excitement and guesswork about the possible upgraded version of the PS5. Following the leaked design revealed by Dealabs in August, Sony might have hinted at this console update with an image celebrating the PlayStation’s 30th anniversary earlier this month. The name “Pro” for this new device is borrowed from the previous generation’s PS4 Pro.

The specifications and cost for the console are currently unclear. In March, there were leaked specs and a report by Digital Foundry suggesting that the PS5 Pro might feature a more potent GPU and enhanced ray tracing. More recently, in September, an analyst predicted that the PS5 Pro could retail at $650, with no indication of a price reduction for the standard PS5 model.
