Players Waited 25 Years for Strategy Like Sea Power. Even Prohibitive Price Didn't Scare Them Off

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age has certainly piqued my interest. Having played my fair share of simulation RTS games, I can’t help but be intrigued by this newcomer from Triassic Game studio.

The strategic simulation game titled “Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age” is now accessible on Steam, as previously announced. Launched today in Early Access, it’s a bit pricy, with a launch price of around $44.99. Even with a day one discount of 10%, it still requires a significant investment for this game developed by the Triassic Game studio.

One could wonder if setting such a high price for what appears to be a rather specialized game might deter potential buyers. But apparently, that wasn’t the case. In fact, just hours after its launch, an astonishing 4,300 players were simultaneously playing the game. Furthermore, this title managed to find itself on Steam’s bestseller list, currently holding the fourth spot.

It might come as a shock that the matter of price seldom arises in the majority of positive reviews for the game Sea Power by Steam users. Despite its merits, even those who admire it acknowledge that there are areas requiring further enhancement. Bugs can detract from enjoyment and it’s clear this is an extremely early access title with limited content available.

Here’s to wishing that the team will refine and evolve their game into a contemporary spiritual successor to Jane’s Fleet Command, worthy of today’s gaming standards.
