Players of Legendary MMORPG waited more than 27 years for this. Tibia receives new character class

After nearly 28 years, a new class has come to Tibia in a major update to this old MMORPG.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve witnessed countless attempts to dethrone World of Warcraft in the MMORPG realm, games boasting ambition, modernity, and revolutionary ideas. Yet, Blizzard’s masterpiece persists with significant updates and tweaks. On the other hand, Tibia has just introduced a fresh addition to its character roster – the monk class, with a secondary form unlockable at level 20.

a warrior skilled in close-combat and also serving as a spiritual figure who provides healing and assistance during battles using moral principles. But adding a fresh class (complete with unique abilities, gear, etc.) to Tibia after over two decades of updates proved to be quite the task. To give you an idea, the developers at CipSoft had to modify approximately 130,000 lines of code to make the game compatible with the Monk character.

Tibia version 15.00.249ccc is not just a monk

Apart from the experimental features like Aiming Mode, yesterday’s update 15.00.249ccc also brought some significant changes. For instance, a new region named Blue Valley has been incorporated into the game world of Tibia. In addition to this, more than 70 new items and around 25 spells have been added, providing ample opportunities for exploration. Moreover, the limit on the number of characters per account has been expanded, offering veteran players with a packed roster an opportunity to experiment with the monk class. Lastly, there were also some balance adjustments made in the game.

In addition to the recent release, the game Tibia has also become available on the Epic Games Store. You can find the comprehensive list of changes on the game’s official website, and a monk character can be spotted in the newly launched trailer.

As a dedicated enthusiast, I must admit that so far, the new monk class seems to be garnering positive feedback from fellow players. However, it’s worth noting that many of us haven’t had extensive hands-on experience with this class yet, as we’re all eagerly awaiting the weekend when we can really dive in. This could potentially explain why there hasn’t been a significant surge in player numbers according to Guild Stats. Therefore, it seems we’ll have to wait for the final verdict on the monk class (and any necessary tweaks).
