Plagues, Legends, and 11 Million Petted Cats and Dogs - Crusader Kings 3 Devs Sum up Four Years of the Game

As a dedicated Crusader Kings 3 player with countless hours spent weaving the tapestry of medieval Europe, I can’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie and shared history with the millions who have journeyed alongside me. The statistics unveiled by Paradox Interactive are both humbling and fascinating – it’s mind-blowing to think that so many of us have collectively experienced the Black Death, tended our virtual pets, and strived for glory in Britannia.

Players of Crusader Kings 3 have collectively invested more than 225 million hours into the game over its four-year tenure, as announced by Paradox Interactive in celebration of its history with the Crusade series’ third installment.

Besides sharing the overall gameplay hours, the publisher disclosed the top starting regions – with Britannia being the most preferred – and the number of players who jumped into the action in CK3 this year: a staggering 1.5 million joined! Additionally, we discovered the favorite “characters” (whose tales have been completed almost 2 million times), the commonly achieved feats, and the data on Discord and YouTube channels.

In the game world of “CK 3,” it’s worth noting that an unusual occurrence was the Black Death pandemic, which struck about 23 thousand times, leading to approximately 1.6 million deaths among its inhabitants. Interestingly, players sought hairdressing services a staggering 39 million times.

Of course, the summary could not miss information about the number of… petted animals. Cats were slightly more popular than dogs, and in the last year, players have played with over 3 million pets. In total, over 4 years, more than 11 million animals were petted.

It’s quite possible that this isn’t the last update about Crusader Kings 3: Roads to Power DLC. Scheduled for release on PC on September 24th, this expansion is expected to draw in both new and returning players to Crusader Kings 3. The experience offered by this DLC allows you to traverse the medieval world as either Marco Polo or Roger de Flor, without any ties to land or feudal duties.
