Pirate Software responds after Stop Killing Games campaign surpasses 1 million signatures

In the aftermath of the successful Stop Killing Games campaign, Pirate Software allegedly experienced a swatting incident and received threatening messages that implied deadly intent.

The “Preserve Your Games” initiative encourages game publishers to maintain accessibility to digital games long after their official support period ends. As of now, this petition has garnered over 1.15 million signatures following its launch on July 3rd.

By 2024, the broadcaster expressed dissent towards the movement, labeling its objectives as overly “ambiguous.” He further stated, “This movement seems to be requesting rights that don’t currently exist, disregarding the comprehensive safeguards that are already in place.

On July 3rd, Thor announced via a post on X/Twitter that he had left Ludwig’s Offbrand Games after the SGF discussion. He stated that individuals were targeting all of the games produced by the studio because of his remarks, which he described as “unbalanced” behavior.
