Philippines makes a big statement with Vitaly arrest to deter nuisance streamers

In simpler terms, Streamer Vitaly, who was banned from Kick, won’t be expelled from the Philippines. Instead, he will be prosecuted as the country takes action against problematic streamers.

On April 3, the Russian live-streamer Vitaly Zdorovetskiy was taken into custody following a string of questionable online broadcasts.

The video depicted the individual engaging in several amusing yet questionable incidents. He was seen mockingly discussing theft with multiple people, singing Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’, while being escorted by security after such jokes. He even made off with an electric fan from a restaurant and transported it to a hotel. To add to the list, he collided a tricycle into a stationary vehicle.

Unfortunately for the Kick streamer, it’s not just a matter of being sent back. Instead, he will have to deal with charges, and he was publicly displayed by the authorities during a press conference when they announced their decision.

Vitaly faces numerous charges over Kick streams

Vitaly is being detained by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, and he will remain in their care until his upcoming court case.

As a gamer speaking, “During a recent press conference, I made it clear that he won’t be expelled from our gaming community. He must face the law, and this decision demonstrates our commitment to upholding justice within our borders.

Moreover, Secretary Jonvic Remulla of the Department of the Interior and Local Government stated that Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, the contentious Russian blogger, would receive no preferential treatment. He further emphasized that Mr. Zdorovetskiy was considered a potential flight risk.

I’m thrilled to share that instead of being deported from the Philippines, Vitaly will be staying in the country to address the three charges filed against him. Among these charges is one for attempted theft. Let’s hope for a fair and just resolution to this situation.

Analysts highly appreciated this response, and YouTuber Legal Mindset foresees that it might discourage bothersome livestreamers in the future. Expressing his approval, he stated, “Other countries, pay attention; the Philippines got it right.

According to ABS-CBN, Vitaly showed “no remorse” after his arrest.

Investigators are also said to be trying to find out who Vitaly’s camera operator is, as they aim to track down members of his production team.

As a devoted admirer putting things into my own words, I’m sharing that Yuriy Zdorovetskiy finds himself dealing with three allegations of unjust harassment under the Cybercrime Prevention Act, two instances of alleged theft, and one accusation of attempted theft.

Vitaly’s detention occurs at a time when Johnny Somali, another problematic streamer, is on trial in South Korea. He’s currently facing potential imprisonment of up to 10 years due to the charges against him.
