Phil Robertson, ‘Duck Dynasty’ Patriarch, Dies at 79

Phil Robertson, the patriarch of TV’s “Duck Dynasty” reality show, has died. He was 79.

In December, it was announced on “Unashamed With the Robertson Family” that Robertson had received a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease from medical professionals.

Korie Robertson, Phil Robertson’s daughter-in-law, announced the news on Facebook yesterday, expressing, “Today, we rejoice because our father, spouse, and grandparent, Phil Robertson, has joined the Lord. He frequently shared with us Paul’s words, ‘We do not grieve as those without hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again; therefore, we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.’

Appreciation goes out to all those whose lives have been touched by his extraordinary journey, guided as it was by grace, courageous faith, and an unwavering passion to share the joyous message of Jesus. We remain thankful for his time among us and will carry forward the tradition of loving God and cherishing others, eagerly awaiting our reunion with him.

Many of you hold a special place in your hearts for him, as he’s touched your lives in remarkable ways. At the moment, we’re holding a personal ceremony, but rest assured, we’ll announce details shortly for a public event honoring his life.

“Duck Dynasty” aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017.
