Pharrell Williams’ ‘Piece by Piece’ London Film Festival Screening Disrupted by Animal Rights Protesters

As a veteran film critic with over three decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen it all – from the most heartwarming love stories to the grittiest crime dramas. But nothing quite prepared me for the unusual turn of events that unfolded at the closing night gala of the BFI London Film Festival.

During the showing of Pharrell Williams’ animated biography “Piece by Piece” at the BFI London Film Festival, protests from animal activists caused a disturbance on Sunday.

The event occurred during the final night celebration of the London Film Festival held at Queen Elizabeth Hall. Members from the animal rights advocacy group, PETA, displayed a sign with the message, “Pharrell, cease your endorsement of animal slaughter in fashion.

At a concert venue, a protester voiced their disapproval towards Pharrell, exclaiming, “It’s disgraceful, Pharrell! Animals are subjected to cruel and inhumane treatment.” The protestors were referring directly to Pharrell’s role as the Creative Director for Men’s Fashion at Louis Vuitton. They placed blame squarely on LVMH, the French conglomerate that owns Louis Vuitton, saying, “LVMH, you bear responsibility for this.

Struggling with laryngitis, Williams spoke softly: “May God be with you. The transformation we aspire for won’t occur instantly.
