PewDiePie mocks MrBeast’s advice for new YouTubers

As a long-time YouTube enthusiast who has followed PewDiePie‘s journey since his humble beginnings, I find myself amused by Felix Kjellberg’s recent banter with fellow influencer MrBeast. While it is true that MrBeast has certainly made a name for himself on the platform and even surpassed Pewds as the most-subscribed creator in 2022, I can’t help but chuckle at Pewdiepie’s playful skepticism towards some of MrBeast’s advice.

YouTube sensation, PewDiePie, found himself chuckling over the guidance given by fellow internet personality, MrBeast, to aspiring content producers.

For quite a while, I proudly wore the crown as the top YouTuber with the most subscribers, that is, Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg. However, in the year 2022, Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson managed to snatch my throne and claim the title for himself.

After that, they’ve maintained a friendly bond, occasionally getting together for joint work, such as a video collaboration in early 2023. However, this hasn’t prevented PewDiePie from giving his honest opinions.

On September 30, PewDiePie teamed up with fellow internet personality CinnamonToastKen in a YouTube video, where they joked about poor quality advice on YouTube, including suggestions from MrBeast.

In one video, MrBeast advised content creators to consider a 10-year timeframe and work tirelessly, advocating that they should put in maximum effort over this decade to achieve success.

Pewds chuckled, saying it’s quite a significant pledge, ‘Ten whole years! I understand the idea, but wow. Suppose after nine years, no one seems to care about your channel, and you think, ‘One more year, let’s do this!’

They further discussed Donaldson’s hypothesis that creators may initially struggle with viewership on their first few videos, suggesting instead that budding influencers should strive for making around 100 videos, always working on improvement in each one.

“I got views on my first video,” Ken said.

“Well, there you go!” PewDiePie laughed. “What does MrBeast know about YouTube?”

“That was a long time ago,” Ken clarified. “Nowadays it’s really hard to break through.”

For the very first time, it appears that the algorithm is providing me fresh videos from lesser-known channels, Pewds responded. Before, I wouldn’t have experienced such a thing.

Reflecting on his own journey, PewDiePie appeared to concur with MrBeast’s suggestions to some extent. “You truly need to put in a lot of effort,” he stated. “It’s much like any other field; if you aim to excel, there will be countless others trying the same thing. You simply have to work extraordinarily hard.

1) PewDiePie remains among YouTube’s top subscribed content creators, holding the 8th position. However, it was MrBeast who seized the title of most-subscribed channel in 2024, surpassing T-Series. Despite ongoing controversy surrounding him, MrBeast consistently attracts tens of millions of views per upload and collaborates with other creators on innovative projects.
