YouTube sensation PewDiePie has decided to set up permanent residence in Japan by buying property there. He plans to construct his ideal family home on this land.
In the year 2022, Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg made an official relocation to Japan, and it was there that he and his spouse, Marzia, were blessed with their firstborn son, named Bjorn, in the year 2023.
Though numerous well-known international figures reside in Japan, this particular pair’s family members are situated thousands of miles away in Europe and North America. Given their strong desire for familial support, they ponder relocating from the Land of the Rising Sun to be nearer to their loved ones.
On April 11, 2025, Kjellberg shared in his vlog that he has decided to settle permanently in the country, having purchased land where he plans to construct a new house.

For approximately a year now, PewDiePie mentioned that he and Marzia were on the hunt for a piece of land, and finally managed to find their ideal spot following several months of thorough exploration.
He led viewers on a journey to capture the tour of a construction firm, demonstrating the various safety checks conducted on materials such as insulation and wood for the company’s operations.
The YouTube creator also provided a glimpse of the property they’d acquired, which had been concealed under a black plastic sheet during the video recording.

It’s been stated that the building work by the contracted construction firm was supposed to start towards the end of October, but there’s some ambiguity about whether this refers to the year 2025 or if the video showing the preparations was filmed in 2024.
He stated, “Things are progressing swiftly, yet extraordinarily well,” he said. “We’re absolutely thrilled. It’s going to be fantastic. After searching for about a year, we finally found the perfect plot.
Later on, Kjellberg displayed a quick peek at the preliminary blueprint of their household abode, featuring elements like a movie theater, a cozy sunken lounge, and an exclusive outdoor space intended for their beloved pets.

A fresh disclosure emerges, having been made about a month ago, following the YouTube personality’s announcement that they decided to remain in Japan instead of moving back to be nearer their relatives, after much deliberation on the matter.
He expressed that in numerous aspects, staying in Japan feels illogical due to the great distance from our loved ones. It’s hard being separated from friends who are dearly missed. This sentiment was conveyed in his video blog on March 14th.
Due to our deep affection for Japan, making a decision about leaving has proven incredibly challenging, yet we’ve reached a point where we’ve made up our minds – and that decision is to remain here.
The Kjellbergs seem unlikely to depart from Japan in the near future, given that they are expanding their family, most recently welcoming a chihuahua-pug mix named Momo into their household.
