PETA has criticized MrBeast following his playful appeal on YouTube for participants in a video aimed at addressing the popular “100 men vs a Gorilla” query.
Towards the end of April, there was a great deal of interest online about a playful, amusing hypothetical question that went viral: might one hundred men be able to subdue a single gorilla?
This query sparked extensive debate, modeling, specialists offering their insights, and content producers forming their ideal squads for a hypothetical contest with a gorilla.
In the thick of the discussion, Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson disclosed the requirement for 100 volunteers to bring his idea to life – a revelation that caught the interest of both Elon Musk and IShowSpeed.
Additionally, the video attracted the attention of animal rights organization PETA, who publicly criticized the world’s most popular YouTube personality across several social media posts.
PETA urges MrBeast not to “exploit” animals for 100 men vs Gorilla video
In response to MrBeast’s tweet regarding the ongoing debate, PETA expressed strong disapproval towards his humorous suggestion of creating a video to experiment with reality, as it involves animal cruelty.
They suggested replacing the topic of ‘100 men against a gorilla’ with ‘100 reasons for excluding animals from your content,’ as they put it. They enjoy having fun, but asked to keep animals out of their games.
100 men vs. a gorilla? Maybe try 100 reasons to leave animals out of your content instead…

When another user suggested that the video might be enjoyable for the animals, the group countered with: “Using animals for entertainment isn’t enjoyable for them. Instead, let’s allow them to experience genuine fun: in their natural environments, where they truly belong.

PETA suggested that MrBeast switch his focus from the gorilla video to aiding bulls in India, instead.
They suggested, “If you truly want to show your might, MrBeast, consider forgoing a gorilla fight and instead work towards retiring the bulls who are compelled to labor under harsh conditions pulling tons of sugarcane in the scorching sun. Perhaps by introducing tractors instead.
Instead of showcasing your strength through a gorilla fight, MrBeast, why not demonstrate it by retiring the bulls who are forced to labor under harsh conditions pulling tons of sugarcane in intense heat? Let’s replace them with tractors instead. 🐂🚜

Interestingly, rather than avoiding charitable endeavors, MrBeast actively participates in them extensively. For instance, he has contributed to various charities by planting over 20 million trees, restoring sight for more than a thousand individuals, and removing vast amounts of waste, totaling millions of pounds, from our oceans.
So far, I haven’t heard back from Donaldson regarding PETA’s concerns – yet, I don’t think he ever intended for a hundred people to literally battle a gorilla, considering the obvious ethical and legal dilemmas associated with such an idea.
It remains unclear precisely what kind of gorilla-related content MrBeast plans to release, and whether PETA will still criticize him, regardless of the specific video he ultimately produces.
PETA, meanwhile, has a history of calling out hot topics to promote its own agenda.
At the peak of Palworld’s fame, the organization levied accusations that the game endorsed animal cruelty and recommended a vegan playstyle or guide within the game.
