Walker Scobell, who plays Percy Jackson in the Disney+ series, won’t be able to attend his prom. This is because fans have been sending death threats to his classmates just for knowing him.
This fantasy series is inspired by popular young adult books by Rick Riordan. It tells the story of the main character learning he’s a demigod, and that his father is Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea.
He goes to Camp Half-Blood, a camp for teens who are the children of Gods. He soon finds himself caught up in a growing war against the Titan Kronos and his army. The show has covered the first two books, The Lightning Thief and The Sea of Monsters, and will adapt the third book, The Titan’s Curse, in 2026.
Despite the show’s popularity, Walker Scobell won’t be able to attend his prom. Fans have been sending death threats to his classmates after discovering their connection to him.
Walker Scobell asked Percy Jackson fans on Instagram to stop sending death threats

On April 12th, Walker Scobell used Instagram to ask fans to stop harassing young women simply because they know him. It appears some fans have been sending threatening messages to girls who may be interested in him romantically, though the extent of this isn’t fully known.
Scobell announced on Instagram that he won’t be going to prom and asked people to stop threatening other girls who live near him or might be connected to him in some way. He said the threats were happening because of his decision not to attend.
It’s unfair to the people involved and their families. And honestly, sending death threats is never okay. It’s strange that I even have to point that out.
