As an ardent fan of both Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series and the magical world it weaves, I am absolutely thrilled about Tamara Smart’s casting as Thalia Grace for Season 2 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” This young actress has proven her mettle with her impressive portfolio, from “Resident Evil” to “The Worst Witch,” and even sharing screen time with the late, great Lance Reddick in “Artemis Fowl” and “A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting.

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 2 has found its Thalia Grace.

Actress Tamara Smart has been chosen to play Thalia in the upcoming Disney+ series. She’ll be making appearances as a recurring guest star alongside the main cast members Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, and Daniel Diemer. Furthermore, it was recently revealed by EbMaster that Timothy Simons will feature in Season 2, portraying the character Tantalus.

The upcoming second season of the show will follow the storyline from “The Sea of Monsters,” the second book in the Percy Jackson series written by Rick Riordan. At this moment, production for season two is ongoing and it’s expected to air in the year 2025.

Rick Riordan emphasized that accurately casting Thalia Grace, a key character in the Percy Jackson series, was crucial. He described Thalia as a strong warrior, a devoted friend, and a demigod with a rebellious spirit who challenges the system – somewhat like a punk or a rebel against the machine. When Tamara Smart portrayed this role, it instantly became clear that we had found our daughter of Zeus. In a fitting way, Tamara embodied the “grace” in Thalia Grace.

Thalia is also known as “the Demigod daughter of Zeus, who valiantly defended her friends at the border of Camp Half-Blood before succumbing. Instead of allowing her to perish, Zeus miraculously turned her into a tree that fortifies the barrier safeguarding the camp. Tough and spiky in nature, with a rebellious/punk flair, Thalia is fiercely devoted to her friends and deeply skeptical about the world of her father.

As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that I recently graced the screens of Netflix’s “Resident Evil,” portraying the character who was the daughter of the role once played by the late, great Lance Reddick. In Season 1 of “Percy Jackson,” he donned the mantle of Zeus. You might also recognize me from series like “The Worst Witch” or films such as “Artemis Fowl” and “A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting.

She is repped by Gersh, ColorCreative, 42 in the UK and Shelby Weiser.

I’m thrilled beyond words to be a part of the ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ cast,” Smart expressed. “This role is particularly dear to me as it allows me to reunite with the late Lance Reddick, whom I shared a desire to work together again. The fact that I get to play his daughter Thalia once more makes this experience even more meaningful and significant. His spirit guides me every step of the way, and I aim to make him proud as we embark on this incredible adventure together.
