Pedro Pascal Slams J.K. Rowling as a ‘Heinous Loser’ for Anti-Trans Rhetoric, Supports ‘Harry Potter’ Boycott

Pedro Pascal stands up for the transgender community yet another time, voicing criticism towards J.K. Rowling, known for using her social media platform to express views that are often critical of trans individuals.

On Instagram, Pascal reacted to a video posted by writer and activist Tariq Raouf on April 17th, where he criticized J.K. Rowling’s actions as being similar to villainous behavior from Voldemort. This criticism was in response to Rowling’s efforts to influence the U.K. Supreme Court’s definition of woman, which some see as detrimental to trans women. Rowling has been financially involved in these efforts through her backing and donations to the organization For Women Scotland.

In essence, it’s now our responsibility as the general population to ensure that absolutely everything associated with ‘Harry Potter’ experiences a setback,” Raouf stated.

Pascal found the video appalling and added a comment, “Truly abhorrent actions are spot-on. Despicable characters indeed.

In 2021, Pascal’s sibling, Lux Pascal, openly declared that she is a transgender woman. Notably, Pedro has often expressed his backing for her and the larger transgender community.

In a 2023 Esquire interview, Pedro shared that Lux has always been one of the most influential individuals and captivating personalities he’s ever encountered. He stated, “I possess an instinctive urge to safeguard her, yet my attachment to her surpasses her dependence on me.

A number of other celebrities have voiced their disapproval of J.K. Rowling’s views on transgender issues, with notable figures like “Bridgerton” actress Nicola Coughlan, as well as Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson from the Harry Potter movie franchise, among them.
