As a long-time fan of both the big screen and small, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming “Saturday Night Live” episode featuring Paul Mescal and Shaboozey! With his captivating performance as Hanno in “Gladiator II,” Mescal has proven himself to be a formidable talent, and I’m eager to see what he brings to the SNL stage.
Paul Mescal, famed from “Gladiator II,” will step into Studio 8H in the upcoming weekend. It’s been unveiled that he’ll be the next host for “Saturday Night Live” during Charli XCX’s episode. Shaboozey has also been confirmed as the musical guest.
On December 7th, I’ll get to see Mescal and Shaboozey grace the stage on “Saturday Night Live”! It’s going to be their debut since the show took a three-week break over Thanksgiving. Can’t wait!
Two weeks following the release of “Gladiator II” in North American cinemas, an episode of “SNL” will air. In Ridley Scott’s follow-up to his 2000 Academy Award-winning film, Liam Mescal takes on the role of Hanno, a former Roman emperor’s heir who is compelled to resume his gladiator career at home. The movie also features Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, Fred Hechinger, Joseph Quinn and Denzel Washington.
The fifty season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” was graced by host Jean Smart and musical guest Jelly Roll, both of whom had notable successes at the Emmys two weeks ago. Specifically, Jean Smart won the award for best lead actress in a comedy series for her work on Season 3 of “Hacks,” while Jelly Roll took the stage during the “In Memoriam” segment.
The lineup is completed for October 5 with performances by Nate Bargatze and Coldplay, followed by Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks on the 12th, Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish on the 19th, and concluding with John Mulaney and Chappell Roan on November 2.
On November 9th, I found myself laughing heartily as comedian Bill Burr took the stage to host a post-election special, accompanied by the soulful tunes of musical guest Mk.gee. Fast forward to November 16th, and pop sensation Charli XCX stole the show, serving not only as the host but also delivering an electrifying performance. Quite the double duty, indeed!
On February 16, “Saturday Night Live” is marking its golden jubilee by hosting a live prime-time event. This show will be broadcast on NBC at 11:30 pm Eastern Time, and it can also be streamed on Peacock.
Saturday Night Live” is jointly made by Broadway Video, with Lorne Michaels serving as its creator and executive producer.
