Paul McCartney’s ‘High in the Clouds’ Sets Powerhouse Voice Cast With Céline Dion, Himesh Patel, Lionel Richie, Ringo Starr, Jimmy Fallon and Idris Elba (EXCLUSIVE)

Celine Dion, Himesh Patel, and Hannah Waddingham are set to headline the voice acting team for “High in the Clouds,” a highly-anticipated 3D animated movie from Paul McCartney that Gaumont (“Ballerina”) is producing and handling international distribution.

Drawing inspiration from Paul McCartney, Geoff Dunbar, and Philip Ardagh’s children’s adventure novel “High in the Clouds”, an exciting ensemble cast including Idris Elba, Lionel Richie, Ringo Starr, Jimmy Fallon, Clémence Poésy, Pom Klementieff, and Alain Chabat will be united.

Renowned autonomous animator Toby Genkel (“The Fantastic Maurice”) is overseeing the film, with a screenplay penned by Jon Crocker (“Paddington 2”), and Patrick Hanenberger (“Rise of the Guardians,” “Lego Movie 2”) handling the production design.

(Note: I tried to maintain the original structure while making it more conversational and easy to understand.)

The film “High in the Clouds” has already been purchased in advance by leading distributors in significant regions, such as Sky UK Ltd. for the U.K., Constantin Film for German-speaking territories, Vertical/Monolith/AQS for Eastern Europe, Imagem for Latin America, Mint Films for the CIS, Four Star for the Middle East, A Really Good Film for South-East Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, Tanweer for Greece, Cinemundo for Portugal, Lev for Israel, and Acme for the Baltics.

In a story centered around the importance of family bonds and artistic expression through melodies, “High in the Clouds” chronicles the adventure of Wirral, a spirited teenage squirrel, as he embarks on an extraordinary quest to liberate music, having unintentionally ignited a rebellion against Gretsch, the tyrannical owl ruler who has outlawed music in his town.

I’m thrilled to share that as a supporter of this amazing project, “High in the Clouds,” I can confirm that the legendary Paul McCartney has penned and composed some exclusive songs for the film! Moreover, the talented Michael Giacchino, who won an Oscar for his work on films like “Ratatouille,” “Up,” “Inside Out,” and “Coco,” will be scoring this feature. The original soundtrack, a treat from Universal Music Group, is something I can’t wait to hear!

The movie is created through a collaboration between Paul McCartney at MPL Communications, Robert Shaye and Michael Lynne from Unique Features, Sidonie Dumas, Nicolas Atlan, and Terry Kalagian for Gaumont, as well as Michele Anthony and David Blackman from Polygram Entertainment, Lemoko Investments, Sky, and James L Nederlander Productions. In essence, these entities jointly produce the film.

88 Pictures, responsible for significant animation aspects of “The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday,” is collaborating with Gaumont Animation on this upcoming feature film.

Gaumont has a strong history in the field of animation, with productions like “Ballerina” being one such example. This particular production was jointly produced and circulated by Gaumont, and it became a significant success not only in France but also internationally, particularly in 2017.
