Paul McCartney’s Reddit account was temporarily suspended because he posted photos from one of his concerts using a Dropbox link, which goes against the platform’s rules.
The ex-Beatle shared photos from his concerts at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, which he performed on March 27th and 28th.
The original Reddit post has been taken down, and Paul McCartney’s account – which is probably managed by his team – is now back online.
Reddit flags McCartney’s own concert photos
The artist shared the images on a subreddit for fans using an account that had only posted once before.
The post thanked everyone who came to the show at Fonda Theatre last night and shared photos for those who couldn’t make it. It explained the photos were meant to give fans a glimpse of the concert, which was a phone-free event.
Since phones weren’t allowed at last night’s show, we made sure to capture some memories for you to share with your friends and family.
McCartney’s Reddit account status as it appeared on March 30.People online noticed the irony of the artist being prevented from posting about his own exhibition.
The moderators of the Paul McCartney subreddit haven’t said anything about the ban, and it’s unknown whether it happened automatically or if someone manually banned the account.
Either way, this is far from the first time Reddit’s moderation has made headlines.
So, I was really surprised to see that Stale2000, who used to be a mod for LivestreamFails, put out a video after getting removed. Basically, he was saying that Reddit moderators deserve the same kind of treatment as celebrities – it was a pretty bold take, honestly!
