Paul Feig Says ‘Outrage’ Against Blake Lively and ‘Another Simple Favor’ Drama Is ‘Boring’: ‘You Don’t Know What You’re Talking About’

Despite most cast members from “Another Simple Favor” remaining silent on the ongoing legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, director Paul Feig publicly stands by Blake Lively, who played a significant role in his film “It Ends With Us.

Directing the movie “Another Simple Favor,” Feig shared with Esquire that Blake Lively was a fantastic team player. It’s disheartening for him to see unfounded assumptions about film production when people misinterpret how movies are made.

This way, we maintain the original meaning but use simpler and more conversational language.

He stated: “When people on the internet become passionate about a topic, it’s often the case that they are misinformed. I adore collaborating with Blake; she truly is exceptional.”

He said: “When the online community gets worked up over an issue, it’s usually because they lack accurate information. I really enjoy working with Blake; she’s simply amazing.

Support for Feig emerged following several months of public curiosity surrounding the allegations against Baldoni made by Lively in relation to their work together on “It Ends With Us.” In December, Lively submitted a complaint to the California Civil Rights Department, asserting that Baldoni had sexually harassed her during filming, and additionally accused him of orchestrating a negative campaign prior to the movie’s release last August. Since then, Baldoni has taken legal action against The New York Times, Lively, and her spouse, Ryan Reynolds.

Feig remarked, “These days, outrage seems to be the least engaging emotion among humans. It’s wonderful when it’s directed at significant issues. However, people get upset over everything. I can’t help but wonder, is this really what you’re angry about? There are far more important things to be outraged about – why not channel that anger into making the world a better place instead?

In the chill of December, I too stood in solidarity with the exceptional talent, Blake Lively. Having collaborated with her on two “A Simple Favor” films, I can confidently attest to her professionalism, creativity, collaboration, and unparalleled talent. Her name was unfairly tarnished by a malicious smear campaign, and it’s disheartening to see her go through such ordeal. I believe it’s abhorrent and hope for a time when she can once again shine without the shadow of baseless accusations.
