Paul Danan’s Cause of Death Was Mixture of Drugs, Including Heroin and Cocaine

Paul Danan, famed British actor and reality television personality from “Hollyoaks,” passed away following an overdose involving drugs such as heroin and cocaine.

At an inquest held on Tuesday at Avon Coroner’s Court, it emerged that Danan’s (who passed away on January 15 at the age of 46) preliminary cause of death was due to a mix of heroin, methadone, codeine, pregabalin, cocaine, and zopiclone toxicity. Benzodiazepine use was also found to have played a role in his demise.

Alexis Camp, the coroner’s officer, stated that “there are no family issues” and there was no suicide note left by the celebrity, who was discovered dead in his Bristol residence and identified by his partner, Melissa Crooks. Danan had been scheduled for a plea hearing on January 16 regarding drug charges involving cocaine and cannabis. Previously, he had faced charges of driving under the influence and had publicly acknowledged his battles with substance abuse.

May 28 has been set as a provisional date for Danan’s full inquest hearing.

Danan initially gained fame by portraying a troubled character on the long-running British soap opera “Hollyoaks” from 1997 to 2001. Later, he became a familiar face on reality TV shows such as “Come Dine With Me,” “Celebrity Love Island,” and “Celebrity Big Brother.” At the time of his passing, Danan was preparing for a role in an upcoming independent film titled “Bloody Love.
