Here are the results of the New England Patriots versus Denver Broncos AFC Championship game, according to Madden 26. The NFL Playoffs are still underway, and only four teams remain in contention for a Super Bowl spot. This season has been a strong one for the Patriots under new coach Mike Vrabel. The Broncos have the advantage of another home game, potentially leading them to the Super Bowl. However, only one of these teams will move on to the championship.
Patriots vs. Broncos AFC Championship Results According to Madden 26
The latest edition of Madden NFL predicts the New England Patriots will win the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos with a score of 27-20.
| TEAM | 1st Quarter | 2nd Quarter | 3rd Quarter | 4th Quarter | FINAL |
| #2 NE | 7 | 10 | 3 | 7 | 27 |
| #1 DEN | 7 | 6 | 7 | 0 | 20 |
Jarrett Stidham, who hadn’t started a game in years, had a decent performance against a strong Patriots defense. He opened the game with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Evan Engram, giving his team an early lead. However, Drake Maye quickly answered back with a 60-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Henry.
The Patriots extended their lead early in the second quarter with a five-yard touchdown run by Drake Maye. The Broncos responded with two field goals, narrowing the gap to 14-13 with only three seconds remaining in the half. However, the Patriots chose not to simply run out the clock before halftime.
The first half ended with an incomplete deep pass from Maye, but a penalty for pass interference moved the Patriots to the Denver 18-yard line. This allowed Andy Borregales to kick a 35-yard field goal, increasing their lead. At halftime, the Patriots were ahead 17-13.
Following a field goal by Borregales early in the third quarter, the Broncos scored a touchdown. Stidham ran the ball in from eight yards out, tying the game at 20-20 with 3:56 remaining in the quarter.
New England scored their last points in the fourth quarter with a six-yard touchdown run by Rhamondre Stevenson, leaving Denver with ample time to attempt a comeback.
The Patriots made a risky decision on fourth down with just over seven minutes remaining, and it almost backfired. A field goal at that moment would have put them ahead 30-20, but the play failed, giving the Broncos possession. Luckily, the Patriots’ defense quickly forced Denver to punt again with just over four minutes left on the clock.
The Patriots couldn’t get close enough for a field goal this time and had to punt from the Denver 41-yard line. Unfortunately, the punt wasn’t very good, landing at the Denver 24. This gave Denver good field position and enough time, with two timeouts remaining, to potentially tie the game.
With just 2:35 remaining, Stidham guided the Broncos down the field to the Patriots’ 18-yard line. The Broncos’ offense played well, needing only a short 20 yards or less to tie the game and force overtime.
The Patriots won after Stidham’s pass on fourth down fell incomplete. This victory sends them back to the Super Bowl for the first time since Tom Brady left. They’ll face either the Rams or the Seahawks, depending on who wins the NFC Championship. Here’s a look at how the Patriots have fared in past Super Bowl games:
- Super Bowl XXXVI – Beat Rams 20-17
- Super Bowl XLIX – Beat Seahawks 28-24
- Super Bowl LII – Beat Rams 13-3
Will New England continue its winning streak against teams from the NFC West in the championship game? That remains to be seen, but they first need to secure a win against Denver this weekend.

We’re working on making our game simulations better, but we’ve noticed a problem: changes to CPU and player settings don’t seem to affect CPU versus CPU games. Also, the player rosters in Madden 26 are currently inaccurate, with some players assigned to the wrong positions. Despite these issues, we’re still committed to improving the overall simulation experience.
