Passion Pictures’ Paris Animation Studio Appoints Caroline Audebert as Managing Director (EXCLUSIVE)

As a lifelong movie enthusiast who’s witnessed the rise and fall of countless studios, I must say that the appointment of Caroline Audebert as the new Managing Director of Passion Paris is nothing short of exhilarating! With her extensive background in the animation industry, spanning from Ellipse Animation to Disney, it’s clear that she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.


To mark its 20th anniversary in operation, Passion Pictures’ French affiliate, Passion Paris, has tapped Caroline Audebert as their new managing director.

Audebert will manage future growth, including the establishment of a fresh creative studio on Quai de Jemmapes. This tailor-made studio is specifically designed to accommodate Passion’s 2D series work, as well as its 3D and stop-motion projects for short films and series. This growth will enable Passion’s Paris studios to broaden and enrich their production portfolio.

Paris-based studio, Passion Paris, has unveiled its latest animated creation, “Moonlit Bamboo Forest” by David Pagaille. At present, they are working on various projects such as the highly anticipated “Apocalypse Mojito”, which was a hit at the 2023 Cartoon Forum, and the short film “Please” from esteemed filmmaker Anna Mantzaris. Additionally, Passion Paris is currently in production for season 4 of “LEGO Friends”.

Prior to this, she honed her skills at esteemed studios such as Cybergroup Studios, BUG, Gaumont Animation, and none other than Disney.

What drew me to this position is their incredible versatility and unwavering dedication to creating a myriad of formats across all styles of animation to weave the most enchanting tales. Audebert assumes the role of Managing Director from departing Managing Director, Marc Bodin-Joyeux, who will temporarily stay on for a smooth transition. Regarding the leadership shift, Bodin-Joyeux expressed his utmost faith in Caroline’s capabilities: “I am utterly convinced that she is the right person to take over. Her creativity, leadership skills, and deep love for animation are precisely what Passion Paris requires as we venture into the upcoming 20 years.
