Rowling for applauding a U.K. Supreme Court ruling that denies transgender women recognition as women under the Equality Act. Lux, his sister who came out as transgender in 2021, often accompanies him on red carpets, and Pedro has consistently demonstrated his support for the LGBTQ+ community throughout his career.
J.K. Rowling expressed her delight on social media on April 16th, sharing a picture of herself enjoying a glass of wine and smoking a cigar. The image was accompanied by the caption, “It’s satisfying when things go as planned,” which referred to her financial support for the campaign group For Women Scotland. This group played a significant role in initiating the legal proceedings that eventually reached court. In an Instagram video shared by activist Tariq Ra’ouf, showcasing Rowling’s involvement in the campaign, Pascal expressed his dissatisfaction in the comments section, writing about his disapproval.
