Paris influencer’s free chicken event ends in violent clashes with police

A promotional event in Paris, where an influencer was offering free chicken, quickly turned chaotic when thousands of people showed up, leading to conflicts with police in the city center.

French influencer Fares Salvatore, popular on social media with over 3.4 million Snapchat and almost 500,000 Instagram followers, helped promote the launch of a new Krousty Sabaidi restaurant in Châtelet-Les Halles.

The first 1,000 customers on Saturday got a free chicken and rice meal, and 21 lucky people had a chance to win a trip to the Dominican Republic to see the final of Salvatore’s Influence Games competition.

A meet-and-greet event with influencer Faressalvatore at Châtelet-Les Halles turned chaotic, with clashes between young people and the police (FDO). The atmosphere was far from the intended ‘Influence Game’ concept, and the situation was described as pathetic. Supporters of the police are expressing their support online.

Influencer meet up causes chaos at Paris sub station

Nearly 3,000 people showed up at the train station, far more than the expected hundreds, which quickly overwhelmed organizers and police. The situation quickly became tense as young people began clashing with officers, throwing objects and leading to several viral videos of police pushing back the crowds.

Paris police shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) showing disturbances at an event organized by online personality Faressalvatore. The event, intended as a meetup for his “Influencegame” concept, descended into clashes between young people and the police (FDO), which authorities described as “pathetic.”

Le Figaro reported that three people were taken into custody during the disorder.

Krousty Sabaidi, the Asian food chain hosting the event, apologized for the problems caused by the large crowd. They explained that many more people showed up than expected, leading to the event’s cancellation to ensure everyone’s safety. Krousty Sabaidi confirmed they will still provide the 1,000 free meals at a future date.

On Snapchat, Salvatore said he was glad the event was canceled amid safety concerns.
