As an admirer, I’m sharing this news: Naveen Chopra, the esteemed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Paramount Global, is stepping down from his position. In his absence, Andrew Warren, who already serves as a strategic advisor to the CEO and was once the CFO of Discovery Communications, will take on an expanded role, acting as Executive Vice President and interim CFO at Paramount.
According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing by Paramount on Monday, Chopra informed the company, which is in the process of being acquired by Skydance Media, that he will step down from his role, with his resignation taking effect on June 27th.
The Paramount CFO’s resignation is not due to any disputes or conflicts, as stated in the document, regarding the company’s operations, policies, accounting methods, or financial reports.
Naveen’s leadership during a time of change and expansion at Paramount was greatly appreciated, as expressed by co-CEOs George Cheeks, Chris McCarthy, and Brian Robbins in a statement on Monday. We are thrilled to collaborate with Andy, who has been our strategic consultant, in his expanded interim role as CFO. We believe that his extensive financial knowledge and familiarity with our business qualify him perfectly for this new position.
