Palworld Developer Pocketpair Gives Staff the Day Off for Monster Hunter Wilds

It appears that the developer of Palworld, Pocketpair, has decided to grant its employees a day off on Friday. This coincides almost perfectly with the release date of Monster Hunter Wilds, suggesting that this might be the reason for the day off.

According to Automaton Media’s report, a post on the Japanese Pocketpair X studio’s account mentions that the higher-ups are allegedly receiving strange messages from employees, who predict they won’t feel well the next day.

On Friday, Pocketpair informs its team members that due to a high number of employees potentially calling in sick, most staff will get the day off. But don’t worry, production on games like Palworld and Craftopia won’t be disrupted because of this holiday.

In a similar fashion, Pocketpair had already done this prior to Elden Ring’s release in 2022, indicating that the studio is well aware of their team’s eagerness to dive into such extensive, engrossing games.

It appears that Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t just popular with Pocketpair, but many others as well. In fact, the game’s initial open beta, held in November, set new Steam records for the series, even surpassing those set by fully-released games.

Should you be unfamiliar with Monster Hunter Wilds, it represents the newest installment in the extended series of role-playing games centered around action-packed monster hunting.

The game unfolds within the arid, off-limits territories known as the Forbidden Lands. It places a stronger focus on narrative development while retaining the iconic battles against colossal beasts that have been a staple of the franchise.

Tomorrow, you can explore Monster Hunter Wilds for yourself as it debuts on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on the 28th of February.
