In the final episode, titled “The Bitter End”, Batiatus, mistakenly believing Tullius caused his father’s death, sets a trap for him. After repeatedly stabbing Tullius, Batiatus cruelly forced him to eat the ashes of his father, and then had his men bury him alive within the colosseum’s foundations, essentially making his body a part of the building itself. While Tullius was undoubtedly a villain, Batiatus’s additional acts of torture and the way he disposed of the body were shockingly extreme, particularly given that he would later have to deal with the repercussions of Lucretia’s choices.
