Woody Allen has a long-standing admiration for Diane Keaton, which is clear in his writing, as is his playful criticism of her hometown, Los Angeles. They first connected while working on Allen’s play, *Play It Again, Sam*. Initially, both were too reserved to really talk, but they quickly bonded over lunch.
