An analyst doesn’t think the Switch will ever sell as much as the PlayStation 2. However, the Switch is on track to become Nintendo’s best-selling console of all time, surpassing the Nintendo DS (which sold 154.02 million units). It only needed about 10,000 more sales to reach that milestone – a milestone it likely hit over a month ago, as sales data is current through September 30th. While it’s almost certain, Nintendo won’t officially confirm this until its next financial report in February 2026, or potentially sooner with a separate announcement.
