These two narratives eventually came together when characters from both eras met in a strange location called the Axis Mundi. This place, existing outside of both the surface world and Hollow Earth, introduced bizarre physics and opened up exciting new directions for the entire Monsterverse.

Marvel Studios is increasingly focused on its animated content, giving these projects the same level of importance as its big live-action movies. Meanwhile, DC is finding success with both shows for younger audiences and darker, alternative stories. The 1950s brought a fresh perspective to Western films, featuring more complex characters and morally ambiguous heroes. As in previous years, many successful Westerns were based on novels, and these adaptations changed how viewers saw cowboys and frontier life. In 1953, Alan Ladd starred as a particularly influential Western hero, though the author who originally created the character later rejected the portrayal.
