Minority Mindset

I’m a huge anime fan, and while I love all kinds of stories, some of the most powerful ones are definitely the more mature, R-rated series. These shows aren’t afraid to tackle really complex themes and can be incredibly intense, with amazing visuals and a dark, gripping atmosphere. Honestly, they really stick with you. Netflix has a surprisingly good collection of these kinds of anime, and I’ve put together a list of 10 that I think are absolutely outstanding.

Not much is known about the story, beyond what the title suggests. The first movie ended with Prince Henry publicly coming out and Alex’s mother being re-elected. Two years seems like a short time to plan a wedding, doesn’t it? Perhaps Alex and Henry want to get married before the Supreme Court has a chance to revisit the Obergefell v. Hodges case. It’s a bit of a downer to think about, but this should ultimately be a happy, fictional gay wedding. We’ll share more details, including a release date for Red, White & Royal Wedding, as soon as we have them.

Okay, HUNTR/X fans, listen up! If you missed seeing your faves on the big screen, you’re in luck! To celebrate Halloween, *KPop Demon Hunters* is getting another run in theaters! From October 31st to November 2nd, you can catch it at AMC, Regal, and Cinemark locations. And it’s not just in the US and Canada – they’re bringing it to Korea, the UK, Mexico, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, and the Netherlands! What’s super exciting is that this is the first time *KPop Demon Hunters* will be shown in theaters in Korea, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Ireland, and all across South America! I’m so hyped!

Similar to *Yellowstone*, *Lioness* is one of the few shows not continuing with a new season in 2025. Taylor Sheridan’s other dramas, *Tulsa King* (Season 3) and *Mayor of Kingstown* (Season 4), will be back this fall, and *Landman* Season 2 will stream on Paramount+ in November. Despite this, a third season of *Lioness* should be good, particularly with familiar actors from Sheridan’s other projects involved.

Released more than ten years after the first film, *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2* feels like a natural continuation of the story. It introduces a new group of victims and expands on the terrifying history of the Sawyer family, also featuring new characters who have become franchise staples. Beyond its entertainment value, the film cleverly uses a common Hollywood technique – and when executed well, as it is here – a sequel can often be even better than the original.

Rebecca Miller’s film, *Mr. Scorsese*, isn’t a traditional documentary but rather a portrait of the director’s life and career. Across five episodes, Miller covers a vast amount of ground, from the formative stories of Scorsese’s childhood – which shaped films like *Who’s That Knocking at My Door* – to the production of his latest movie, *Killers of the Flower Moon* (also an Apple TV+ project).
