‘Pachinko’ Season 2 Trailer: Lee Min-ho and Minha Kim Reunite During World War II in Generation-Spanning Drama

As a passionate cinephile with a deep appreciation for thought-provoking and culturally rich storytelling, I am absolutely thrilled to witness the upcoming second season of “Pachinko” on Apple TV+. Having been captivated by the first season’s compelling narrative and exceptional performances, I eagerly anticipate diving deeper into the intricacies of this multigenerational Korean-Japanese family saga based on Min Jin Lee’s acclaimed novel.

The trailer for the second part of “Pachinko,” a series on Apple TV+, has been released. This show is adapted from Min Jin Lee’s 2017 novel of the same name. The new eight-episode season will be available to stream worldwide starting August 23.

“The story of ‘Pachinko’ follows a Korean clan that relocated to Japan prior to World War II. In the second season, the interconnected tales resume in Osaka during the war years, where Sunja is compelled to take risky actions for her family’s wellbeing, and in Tokyo during 1989, as Solomon embarks on a fresh, humble journey.”

In the trailer, Lee Min-ho as Koh Hansu encounters Minha Kim’s character, Sunja, in war-ravaged Osaka, Japan, after a long separation of approximately 14 years. Sunja is surprised and asks, “How did you find me after all this time?” Hansu replies, “I never really lost sight of you.”

In Season 2, we’ll be joined by actors such as Yuh-Jung Youn, Jin Ha, Emmy nominee Anna Sawai, Eunchae Jung, Soji Arai, Junwoo Han, Jimmi Simpson, and Sungkyu Kim.

In March 2022, the debut season of “Pachinko” was recognized with an Emmy Award nomination for exceptional main title design. Later in 2022, it won awards at the Gotham Awards for being a groundbreaking series and at the Critics Choice Awards for best representation of a foreign language series.

Soo Hugh holds the role of creator, writer, and executive producer in collaboration with Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer from Media Res, and Theresa Kang from Blue Marble Pictures for the series. Leanne Welham, Arvin Chen, and Sang-il Lee are the directors for Season 2.
