‘Owning Manhattan’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix (EXCLUSIVE)

As a long-time follower of real estate and reality TV, I must say that I am beyond thrilled about the renewal of “Owning Manhattan” for Season 2! The first season was a captivating blend of business strategies, human drama, and New York’s glamorous real estate scene. Ryan Serhant and his team have managed to create something truly unique in this genre, and I can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us next!

“Owning Manhattan” has been renewed for Season 2 at Netflix.

About a month back, the inaugural season of the show focusing on “Million Dollar Listing: New York” ex-star Ryan Serhant and his real estate firm Serhant wrapped up its run.

Speaking with EbMaster, Serhant expressed, “It’s quite a lot to absorb – it’s a global sensation. ‘Owning Manhattan’ is unlike any show on TV right now; we essentially created a new genre. I’m thrilled beyond words, but I’m also feeling overpowered, in a positive sense. I can hardly wait for what lies ahead.”

Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, co-founders of Series executive producers and World of Wonder, expressed their excitement saying, “We’re overjoyed to hear that our allies at Netflix are proceeding with a second season of ‘Owning Manhattan.’ Ryan Serhant and the entire cast and production crew poured their hearts into creating an exceptional series that offers a unique blend of captivating business, top-notch production, and emotional depth.”

“During its debut week, ‘Owning Manhattan’ Season 1 ranked among the top 10 English TV series globally and climbed into the top 10 programs in 30 different countries. In its first week on Netflix alone, the show was watched for over half a billion minutes.”

The program is known for providing an in-depth look at the immediate transactions, gains, and setbacks within New York’s elite real estate market.

Serhant hinted at the possibility of the realtor cast returning for Season 2, expressing, “Tricia Lee and Jess Markowski have some interesting pasts. As for Nile, his experiences are quite profound; unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance in Season 1 to delve deeper into these topics.”

Barbato expressed, “I’m eager for the public to learn more about this team. I believe we’ll require much more than just eight installments.”

In the initial installment of the show, Serhant articulated his ambitious aim to make his real estate firm the number one brokerage globally, and he is continually amassing more and more real estate agents to aid in this endeavor.

Among all his properties, the standout was the Central Park Tower Penthouse. Spanning 17,500 square feet, this magnificent space boasted an expansive outdoor terrace – the highest outdoor area in the world at that time. The asking price then was a staggering $250 million. On the show, Serhant almost secured a buyer for it, but the sale ultimately didn’t materialize. Later on, he enlisted his top agents to aid him in the endeavor. The upcoming second season promises to unveil more about the suspense surrounding whether the apartment was eventually sold.

A different high-end apartment that caught viewers’ attention was the penthouse in Jardim, located in Chelsea. Despite not being sold by the end of the first season, it was quickly snapped up after the show premiered for $15 million. Maybe the upcoming season will shed some light on this transaction.

“Owning Manhattan” Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
