Players are really enjoying Overwatch’s newest character, Shion! Some have gotten creative and are making custom game modes inspired by Mario Kart, turning the game into a racing competition.
Okay, so Season 3 dropped in Overwatch and it was huge. They added this awesome new map called Neon Junction, plus tons of cool skins – including some Mythics! But honestly, the biggest deal for me was Shion. She’s a new damage dealer, and she’s really mobile with her dual pistols and dash ability. I’ve been having a blast learning her!
Joy’s special ability, called Joyride, lets her quickly travel around the map on a motorcycle. She can then launch the motorcycle at opponents, dealing significant damage.
Although it’s really helpful in standard Overwatch games, players have quickly found creative ways to use it for other things.
Shion’s motorbike ability has Overwatch players racing
Players are using the custom game mode in the hero shooter to create fun races featuring only the character Shion. They’ve tweaked the settings so her motorbike lasts a full 20 seconds, allowing her to quickly travel across entire maps.
Even though you won’t find power-ups along the way, the game still motivates players to search for quicker routes and gain an edge over their opponents.

I saw this cool thing first on a Japanese YouTuber called ‘タイの英雄_ow’. You can try it with the code BFNV0, but it looks like it only works in Japan. Luckily, there are similar options available in other parts of the world, so don’t worry if you’re not in Japan!
It’s simple to create a custom race! Just limit hero selection to only Shion, maximize the Joyride length, and you’re ready to go. For an extra challenge, you can also increase the bike’s maximum speed.
It probably won’t replace the core Overwatch experience, but it’s a nice way to relax and take a breather from competitive play.
