As a veteran Overwatch player with countless hours spent on the battlefield, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgic longing for the end-of-match cards that used to grace our screens after each hard-fought victory or crushing defeat. The statistics they presented were more than just numbers; they told a story of teamwork, strategy, and skill.
Fans of Overwatch Classic believe that Blizzard could have capitalized on a simple chance to reintegrate one of the favorite aspects from Overwatch 1.
In an astonishing move, Overwatch’s community was taken aback in November when Blizzard unveiled Overwatch Classic – a special temporary mode that takes the game back to its initial roster of 21 characters, using the original equilibrium settings and maps.
Although Overwatch Classic has been well-received and many fans have admired its evolution from the original game, there’s one aspect that players find puzzling as they suspect the developers might have missed it: a certain feature that seems to be absent.
Upon the launch of Overwatch 2, significant changes were made in the way statistics were presented. One significant alteration was the introduction of a scoreboard, replacing the previous medal system that primarily showcased a player’s performance in comparison to their own team.
As a gamer, I really appreciated the post-match scorecards. They showcased standout player performances, giving us the chance to cast our votes for who we thought truly excelled in the game.
For example, the cards might show a player’s overall health recovery, number of consecutive kills, shield strength, damage inflicted, as well as other notable statistics.
On the popular Overwatch subreddit, users are advocating for Blizzard to reintroduce this specific feature. They view the lack of it as a “lost chance” or an “opportunity missed.
A player expressed great enthusiasm, stating, ‘I truly wished they would reintroduce these!’ They were his absolute favorites.
Others shared similar thoughts, recognizing that such a task might be beyond the scope or effort level that the development team could handle.
Missed Opportunity with Classic

I was absolutely thrilled with them! It seems almost feasible that they could’ve been reintroduced in the game, which makes me genuinely sorry that we can’t enjoy them anymore, and that newcomers miss out on this unique experience.
In my own words, “I was thrilled to check out everyone’s performance! Particularly the healers. Wow, their numbers were impressive, mine is a whopping 12k!
“Missed opportunity every match I play. F**king why did they remove this?” asked another.
Currently, it’s unclear whether Blizzard plans to reintroduce this specific feature in Overwatch Classic or Overwatch 2 at some point in the future. However, it’s evident that the community continues to remember and eagerly look forward to its potential comeback.
