Among the highly desired costumes in Overwatch 2, one that initially caused a lot of controversy is now being given out for free. However, not all players are delighted about this change.
During season 7 of Overwatch 2, an assortment of Diablo-themed skins made their appearance. Among these, the one featuring Lilith as Moira, embodying Diablo 4’s main adversary, was the standout, captivating players in the hero shooter.
In this rephrased version, the sentence reads: “The skin could be obtained exclusively via a $40 Battle Pass package, leading to a surge of debate within the community since numerous gamers were unwilling to spend that amount on a purely aesthetic item.
Well, I’ve got to admit it, folks. The feedback we’ve received about the scarcity of popular skins has been loud and clear. Rest assured, my gaming crew is working hard to come up with new methods for you to get your hands on some of these sought-after cosmetics. Stay tuned!
Approximately a year has passed, and the developers have indeed fulfilled their promise, however, this choice is causing discomfort among certain users.
Overwatch 2 sparks debate after adding Lilith skin to Loot Boxes
On April 22, Season 16 went live, adding World of Warcraft and Diablo collab skins to loot boxes.
Acquiring the Lilith skin became an option for players who hadn’t had it before, but those who invested money a few years back found themselves somewhat discouraged by this development.
“Ok so can I get my money back then?” one asked.
From Season 16 onwards in Overwatch 2, you’ll have another chance to acquire collaborative skins featuring characters from Diablo and World of Warcraft! These special skins and cosmetic items will be found within the loot boxes in Overwatch 2.

It’s not really equitable towards those who spent real money on them initially, as I was among that group,” someone else added.
As a conscientious consumer, I find myself saying, “I’ve decided to cut back on my shopping sprees,” after hearing another player label it as questionable.
It’s as if the developers are saying, ‘Here’s a chance to stock up on future blizzards for purchase.’ Let’s include these in loot boxes. Unfortunately, this might seem like we’re taking advantage of those who’ve already bought it.

On the other hand, those who didn’t receive their skin during Season 7 were thrilled because they had an opportunity to obtain Lilith at no cost instead.
“This is actually great. I hope they keep adding Collab skins into loot boxes,” a player praised.
“Omg I can finally get the Moira skin,” echoed another thrilled user.
For now, Blizzard has yet to address the criticism, and gamers might consider abstaining from purchasing specific skins, just in case these items eventually end up in Loot Boxes at a later time.
To clarify, collaborations outside of Blizzard Entertainment, like the One Punch Man series, have not resurfaced as of now. Therefore, it’s possible that they are exceptions to the usual pattern.
