Overwatch 2 & Sea of Thieves Crossover: It’s Not What You Think!

Here’s an exciting twist: Overwatch 2 and Sea of Thieves are teaming up for an unanticipated collaboration! Let me fill you in on the details.

Prepare yourself for a fun surprise! Overwatch 2 is partnering with Sea of Thieves in an unexpected crossover event. Here’s what we know so far.

As a gamer, I’ve been thrilled by the diverse crossovers Overwatch 2 has offered over time. From My Hero Academia and One Punch Man to Cowboy Bebop, it’s been amazing to see our heroes transformed into characters from these beloved series, donning fresh looks that perfectly match their new roles!

Despite this, it’s worth noting that Blizzard Entertainment is not hesitant about partnering with numerous brands, including the South Korean K-pop group LE SSERAFIM.

I can’t believe it! In an unexpected twist, my favorite hero shooter is teaming up with a different game entirely, one that isn’t under the Blizzard banner. Next up, it seems, is Sea of Thieves – but not in the way you might expect!

Overwatch 2 x Sea of Thieves collab explained

This collaboration between Overwatch 2 and Sea of Thieves isn’t about introducing a new character skin or novel cosmetic items for the multiplayer shooter, unlike other past collaborations.

Instead, it’s Sea of Thieves that will benefit from this collaboration, as it receives a unique cosmetic item inspired by Overwatch 2.

On April 15, 2025, Blizzard revealed via a post on their platform that Sea of Thieves will officially launch on Battle.net on May 22, 2025.

In recognition of the game’s launch on this platform, those who pre-order the Premium Edition can collect an abundance of unique, in-game items in Sea of Thieves. Among these special items are “Blizzard-themed sails,” which are exclusive to this edition.

These distinctive sails are designed to display the emblems of various games from Battle.net, including World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and Diablo 4. Additionally, they will also showcase the Battle.net logo.

The top-tier version, priced at $59.99 USD, grants you access not only to a wide variety of cosmetics but also additional features.

  • Dire Dark Warsmith ship decorations
  • Dire Dark Warsmith ship crest
  • Dire Dark Warsmith costume set
  • Five Blizzard-themed ship sails
  • Sails of Warriors’ Will – inspired by Battle.net
  • Sails of Heroes’ Horizon – inspired by Overwatch
  • Sails of Fabled Feuds – inspired by World of Warcraft
  • Sails of Binding Bounty – inspired by Hearthstone
  • Sails of Demonic Devotion – inspired by Diablo
  • 1,000 Ancient Coins
  • 6 days of Early Access
  • Season 16 Plunder Pass

For those more interested in playing the game itself rather than collecting all the rewards, there are options available. You can pre-order the standard version for $39.99 USD or the Deluxe version for $49.99 USD. The Deluxe Edition isn’t as pricey as the Premium one, but it comes with fewer extra cosmetic items.
