Overwatch 2 quietly updated Venture & fans are upset about the new change

Players are not overly excited about the slight visual adjustment made to Venture in Overwatch 2, as they seem to prefer the previous version.

In a recent update, Overwatch 2 introduced its midseason patch 15, featuring an exciting collaboration with LE SSERAFIM which is only available for a limited time. Players can participate in this temporary event and complete challenges to earn free rewards.

During the latest balance adjustments, certain hero characteristics were subtly altered to keep gameplay interesting. Interestingly, an unmentioned modification has become apparent to numerous gamers following the update’s release.

Apparently, Venture was given a little bit of an “update” in terms of visuals.

Overwatch 2 players prefer the old Venture hero portrait compared to the new one

For those who haven’t noticed yet, Venture now has a fresh image added to the Hero Gallery. While the posture and facial expression remain unchanged, the portrait hasn’t undergone a complete transformation.

However, observant gamers have swiftly noticed on a Reddit discussion that the lightning has been altered, resulting in an unsatisfactory change of appearance.

Despite a few voices praising the updated image as appearing more radiant, polished, and harmonizing better with the Overwatch 2 visuals, many gamers find it to be “out of place” instead.

One user commented, “I spotted it right away and found it repulsive with their actions on my main character. I can’t help but wonder, what made them destroy something that was previously flawless?

Another commented, “It seemed clear that I wasn’t alone in noticing this. It looks like they’re trying to match it with the other portraits more effectively, yet the lighting appears to be incorrect.

Another user proposed an adjustment to the portrait, suggesting it could appear more appealing if the highlights were made less bright. They further noted that at present, it seems as though a harsh light is being shone directly on the subjects.

It’s evident from all perspectives that a significant number of players express disapproval towards this modification, primarily due to the fact that they find the revised illumination too intense.
